Hello lovely readers! I’m still trying to find my inspiration to get back on blogging and it’s one of the many reasons why I haven’t been so active lately. That being said, I have some news to share with you.

Firstly, last Wednesday at my Adolescent Development course, we learnt how kids are so fixated on their hypothesis that they won’t change it under any circumstances but rather try to rationalise the other facts that are against to their own. What I’m going with this is that, I believe we all have our concrete “facts” for ourselves that we stick with them no matter what and how old we are.  And despite the fact that I hate talking about politics, or rather discuss it let’s say, I feel like I have to. Growing up in a country like Turkey, every single person has some sort of a political perspective, because we’ve been growing up to do so. Tomorrow, the Local Elections will happen, and it’s known that whichever party gets the highest votes on the big cities such as Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir will win at the General Elections as well. This will be my first time voting, and I’ve also signed up to be an observer in a school near my house. Lots of people have been volunteering to do this, so that we’ll limit the chance of the votes being stolen, or changed, which happened a lot of times before. 

One last news for foreigner readers; our lovely government blocked access to Twitter a week ago, and Youtube has been blocked yesterday. There’s the talk of Facebook being next and I guess we have to watch and see for ourselves. I hope you’re doing fine, I’ve missed you.

Selam harika okuyucular! Bloga geri dönmek için ilhamıma tekrar kavuşmayı bekliyorum ve bu neden son zamanlarda çok aktif olmadığımın sadece bir nedeni. Bununla birlikte, sizinle paylaşmak istediğim birkaç şey var.

Öncelikle, geçen Çarşamba günü Ergen Gelişimi dersinde, küçük çocukların kendi tezlerinde kitlenip, kendi görüşlerinin aksine geliştirilen düşüncelerin hepsini red ettiklerini öğrendik. Bunu söylememin nedeni, bence hepimizin kendimize göre çok sağlam “gerçekleri” var, ve her ne olursa olsun ya da kaç yaşında olursak olalım, bu düşüncelere bağlı kalıyoruz. Politika hakkında konuşmaktan nefret etsem de, ya da tartışmaktan diyelim, bir yanım da buna zorunlu olduğumu söylüyor. Türkiye gibi bir ülkede büyüğünde, herkesin bir politik görüşü olmak zorunda çünkü. Yarın, Yerel Seçimler var ve hangi parti İstanbul, Ankara ve İzmir gibi büyük şehirlerde birinci olursa, Genel Seçimler‘de de o kazanacaktır. Bu benim ilk oy verişim olacak, ve aynı zamanda bir okulda sandık gözetmenliği de yapacağım. Bir sürü insan bunun için gönüllü oldu, hepimiz de oyların çalınmasını ya da değiştirilmesini minimalize etmeye çalışacağız.
