Protests all over Turkey are still going on full speed for around ten days now. As I’m writing these things down, I’m somehow committing this “IT crime”. So many people where arrested because they posted about this incident on Facebook or Twitter, but that’s how we raise our voice since the government obviously doesn’t care much about us on the voting procedures. But since I’m not inviting anyone to take any sort of action in these cases but rather just stating my own opinions, my crime is somewhat less important.
Anyways. As I was saying, protests spread from Istanbul to some other important cities such as Ankara, İzmir and Antalya, and thousands of people are on the streets and are protesting against Erdoğan’s regime. Our lovely Prime Minister RTE is still acting careless towards all this but I bet he’s just so scared that he can’t even sleep at night. I hope he suffers really bad, since for ten years, all he did was filling his pockets with the money that he STOLE from us, the citizens. The matter is so much more than just saving some trees right now, it might still be very very important for Istanbul citizens but why do you think that people would go on the streets in Ankara for this matter? The answer is quite simple: It’s not about that park, it was never about that park. It’s about how tired all of us are, living under the pressure of Erdoğan’s dictatorship. So many of our rights where taken away from us, including attaining alcohol, having an abortion and getting a proper education, we HAD to do something.
When I should be spending my time with studying on my university entrance exams, I’m sleeping at Taksim for a week now, running away from the polices’ tear gas and, shouting slogans all the time. On the other hand, it’s really amazing to see the brotherhood in the streets nowadays, I’ve never seen such a friendly and warm atmosphere before! I hope all of this ends before more people get harmed, I believe the number of people in the hospital at the moment because of this situation is over 2000 right now. And our media is not stating any single thing about all of this. And no guys, this is not a “Turkish Spring”, not even close, it’s a “Turkish Awakening“.
On gündür Türkiye’nin dört bir yanındaki protestolar devam ediyor.
Her neyse.
